Even though there’s so much more about Lake Tahoe than winter sports this time of year, when you’re a snow addict, it’s tough when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate with the large amounts of the White Gold.
Up until yesterday, great skiing and riding has been hard to find with minimal snow so far this season. While the groomers have been very nice and the resorts have been doing a very good job keeping the minimal snow base in good shape, we need a lot more snow! The good news is that Feb. and March are usually our heaviest snow months.
Now finally with the last few days of good snow at the higher elevations, more terrain is opening at our area mountain resorts…checkout skiheavenly.com and skirose.com, where The Chutes are scheduled to open today.
One of the most exciting, recent events on the South Shore has been the opening of Hard Rock Hotel Casino at Stateline. I went there the other night with some friends for dinner. Hard Rock has done a very nice job with remodeling plus 3 new restaurants to experience…and of the course the rock memorabilia and pictures are really cool…the guitars are amazing!
In real estate news, is that price increases seem to be slowing down, which is a good thing…large price increases are usually unrealistic and can’t be sustained as we’ve learned from the past.
Here’s to Winter…cheers!
