Each summer the Soroptimist International Club of South Lake Tahoe hosts a food tent at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship held every July at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course. This tournament is the most prestigious celebrity golf event with a purse of $600,000 and network television exposure. It is known not only for some exciting games of golf, but also gives people the opportunity to mingle with celebrities. As Deb Howard & Co is very involved with the local community and SISLT, we gather the office and work this tent every year on Sunday. This annual tradition is something we all look forward to with a percentage of the proceeds made going to SISLT and the various local charities that benefit. In fact, the local Soroptimist club has been partnering with Edgewood since 1990 to operate the food concession booths for this tournament and our members bring their family members, friends and co-workers to help out. The last 17 years have allowed us to donate a substantial amount of funds that go back to organizations that improve the lives of women and girls, locally and globally. Deb Howard & Co enjoys putting on our aprons, rolling up our sleeves and volunteering for a greater cause while having fun with locals and celebrities alike.
